Dvija Ganapati

த்விஜ கணபதி

The word “Dvija” means born twice. As per Upanayana, Dvija Ganapati is considered equivalent to Lord Brahma. He is represented with four heads and four hands holding a palm-leaf inscription, a staff, meditation beads, water pot, noose and goad. He reminds one and all of the urgency for disciplined striving and symbolises the birth of formal education and spiritual awakening.

த்விஜ கணபதி என்பதில் “த்விஜ” என்ற சொல்லுக்கு “இரண்டாவது பிறவி பெற்றவர்” என்று பொருள். உபநயனச் சடங்கின் அடிப்படையில், த்விஜ கணபதி பிரம்மதேவருக்கு நிகரானவராக கருதப்படுகிறார். இவர் நான்கு முகங்களுடனும் நான்கு கரங்களுடனும் திருக்காட்சியளிக்கிறார். அவருடைய கரங்களில் ஓலைச்சுவடி, தண்டம், ஜபமாலை, கமண்டலம், பாசம் மற்றும் அங்குசம் ஆகியவை தாங்கப்பட்டிருக்கும். இத்திருவுருவம் ஒழுக்கம், கட்டுப்பாடு மற்றும் விடாமுயற்சியுடன் ஆன்மிகப் பாதையில் முன்னேற வேண்டிய அவசியத்தை அனைவருக்கும் உணர்த்துகிறது. மேலும், இது முறையான கல்வியின் தொடக்கத்தையும், ஆன்மிக விழிப்புணர்வின் இரண்டாவது பிறவியையும் குறிக்கும்.
